Access to medicine

At Teva, we believe high-quality healthcare should be available to those who need it.

At Teva, we have a corporate responsibility to work together to increase access to quality medicine, especially for those who need it the most.

Teva medicines can help patients with both critical and chronic conditions. We work hard to improve access to medication and strive to ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving treatment, focusing our support in the following key areas:

  • Volunteers in Medicine Clinics which provide medical treatment at no cost to economically-disadvantaged individuals. Teva is the National Corporate Partner of Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), the only national nonprofit dedicated to helping communities develop free health care clinics for the uninsured and providing resources and support to existing VIM Clinics.
  • Disease- and therapeutically-aligned organizations that provide support to patients and their caregivers and are focused in key therapeutic areas.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs to educate young people and encourage them to pursue careers in the healthcare fields to meet the increasing demand for trained healthcare professionals.

Through our charitable foundation and other assistance programs, we provide medications at no cost to low-income, uninsured, and underinsured patients across the United States. Through these programs, thousands of patients in need have access to medication they could not otherwise afford.

In addition to our work in the US, Teva regularly works with a number of accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Direct Relief and Operation Blessing to distribute our products for free to patients in underdeveloped regions around the world, donating tens of millions of product units annually 01. We also make additional donations in times of crisis, such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
